Akuma from Street Fighter fame is taking the fight into Tekken 7. It marks the first time a Street Fighter character has made a cameo in the Tekken series but not the other way around. For those that remember the ancient era of the year 2012, they may remember Capcom’s game Street Fighter X Tekken, and finally after four years it is Bandai-Namco’s turn to take a shot at implementing a character from their rival series into their game.
Tekken 7 is powered by Unreal Engine 4 which marks the first time that engine has been used in the series. What is probably the biggest first for Tekken in general is that Tekken 7 will have a PC version, which marks the first time the series has ever made it’s way into the PC platform.
Aside from Akuma the new characters added to the series are Kazumi Mishima, Claudio, Josie, Shaheen, Katarina, Giga and finally Lucky Chloe. A few of the returning characters are Yoshimitsu, Nina Williams and Paul Phoenix. The story of Tekken 7 will revolve around a a power struggle between the members of the Mishima clan and it will certainly be interesting to see how the new character Kazumi fits into this battle. Tekken 7 is scheduled to be released in the first half of 2017 for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC’s Steam platform.
In celebration of Tekken 7, Tekken Tag Touranment 2 will be free to download for a limited time for Xbox Live Gold members starting June 13, 2016 at and ending on June 21, 2016. It is backwards compatible on the Xbox One and can be downloaded from it as well.
