Seed of the Dead is an adult-oriented FPS set in a world ravaged by a zombie virus. We play as a protagonist simply known as ‘Player’, who upon starting the game is found unconscious by three survivors. As they consider leaving him, he awakens and not long after all four are forced to defend themselves from an incoming undead horde. We start off with a bat and a pistol, while our partner’s all have a single preferred weapon they’ll always use. These range from a chaingun to a shotgun. Imposing as those are, the key to victory is aiming for the head. With your small arm and a steady aim, you can easily outperform them against the ever-encroaching horde.
Eventually, bigger and more powerful weapons will spawn in for your usage. It plays a lot like a wave shooter, from the small arena-like environment, to the brief moments of respite you get as the timer ticks down signaling another attack. Your first and second weapon slot are designated to your bat & pistol exclusively. They will never break and the pistol has infinite ammo. The third and fourth slots can be assigned to any weapon you find on the field. You will have to worry about finding more ammo for them, or if they are melee, they can break with extended use, yet they are far more powerful. Your slow, shambling zombies are far from the only threats you will be facing throughout.
Before you start the game you can select from three different difficulty modes. All that seems to change is the damage caused to you, and even on its highest setting, don’t expect much of a challenge. None of the foes pack much of a punch, as well as your character having an ace up his sleeve. Your three female companions are basically walking med-kits. At any time, you can stop what you are doing, pull down your pants, and ram them. Having sex with them will restore both of your health points quite significantly. Unless you were on the verge of death, you will be at max health after having sex. It lasts for around ten seconds, all the while you have a pseudo rhyme game where you need to time the mouse click to the humping motion for a better heal.
Not only does raw dogging your companions in the middle of battle heal the both of you, but it also briefly grants her extra defense and your character higher damage. The both of you are defenseless while going at it, yet you will regain any health lost from the attacks withstood throughout. If you want to cheese the entire game, just repeatedly have sex to draw enemies in and let the rest of the team do all the work. There is only a single animation for each character, so it won’t be long until you only do so out of necessity. When a companion is downed is a different story. That will once again have new sex animations for all three, though it is also where the real danger comes in.
If you’ve had any experience with the genre, it is unlikely you will die on any occasion in this title. Your companions, on the other hand, are not as competent. They have a really short distance from when they will finally start shooting enemies in front of them. It is darn near melee range at times, which is not all too helpful when fighting against a horde of undead. You will soon discover that they will never aim for the head, and cause negligible damage due to it. At most, they will kill an already wounded enemy, but do not expect them to be much more than walking medkits. As stated, you can cheese the game with repeated sex, though it will take forever with their low damage output. Their most useful attack is melee, oddly enough. It has an extremely broad range and will knock all foes back.
This brings us back to what happens when they are downed. You can plow her back into a healthy state, yet the undead also retain some form of sexual appetite. If they reach a wounded companion, she will be sexually abused by it. Depending on the type, the damage per second will vary, but it should be your priority to rescue her. If it goes on long enough, the monster will cum and now bored with its victim, will kill her. It is a ghastly scene. They didn’t hold back on her screams or the violence of their deaths. That also spells game over for you. With each of the seven missions taking a good while to complete, it will be a major setback to start at the beginning of it.
Only two of the monsters have their own sex/death animations unique to each girl. That is a bit disappointing, though it is still six scenes. Most of the hentai involves your character and it is largely vanilla sex. Some of it can be quite darn rough, such as a footjob stomping that had me reeling in my chair, or titty biting that looked like you had serious qualms about it being all up in your face. Those are the exceptions and quite uncommon. It is all consensual though, your character loved having his junk stepped on in a fashion that resembled someone trying to pop open those packaging type airbags. Or maybe he didn’t, he does not possess a voice actor like his three female sidekicks. That poor mute bastard.
Joking aside, all of his dialogue is told through text. This is a surprisingly pretty story-heavy title that has quite a bit of talking before and after stages. It is all b-movie style writing. It doesn’t take itself seriously at all, which was a smart call since the entire premise is silly. Don’t question how you can give someone a dicking so good that it also heals their ripped clothing, nanomachines son. The plot mostly focuses on the characters and their relation to the player as you all keep pulling through from increasingly dangerous situations. This is not going to win any awards, yet the tongue in cheek nature of it was entertaining all throughout and you never know what to expect. You start off in a regular city, go to a hospital, and somehow later find yourself in some Aztec looking temples wielding a lightsaber. It is certainly worth a read, even if there is an option to skip all story and head directly to the action.
All of the text is very well translated too. The English rarely had a problem, and on the rare occasion it did, it was something really minor. In these story sections are sprites that represent each of the three females. They look so much better than their 3D counterparts. However, the 2D versions of them do not mix that well with the 3D backgrounds on some occasions. It just looks a bit off at times, like if I sloppily photo edited some of my hentai collection into a completely different game. This is far from a big deal though. While the 3D models don’t look great in gameplay, the H scenes appear to use a higher quality version. They have far more detail to them in comparison to in-game where they look like a character swap mod from Left 4 Dead.
After you finish a stage, you will be rewarded with a unique sex scene. These are different than the sex you can have in the midst of battle. For one, they use better character models, and secondly, they are multi-phase. The ones found here are not simply a single basic animation that lasts ten seconds. It starts off slow, then you can advance the intensity whenever you please or turn it back a notch. It’s not just the speed at which he thrusts that will change, but also their movement. As an example, a female is riding you. She can lean back, get in close to your face, and various other alterations that cause it to feel much more natural, while still being in the same sex position. Reverting to a slower thrust will also cause her position to go back to what it previously was, so it’s a scene by scene type of ordeal, yet it does a great job at capturing the intensity as you progress. Once he cums, he will proceed into a new position. There are always at least two or more. This is some quality 3D animation.
In those H sequences, you also have full control of the camera. You can position it anywhere, zoom in/out, or even enter a first-person view to see the action through his eyes. There is also the ability to make your character invisible if you don’t like your hentai with dudes in them. Or maybe it just bothers you that he never takes his clothes off. He is always fully dressed whatever the situation. There is a large amount of hentai here. From these rewards, the in-game healing sex, monsters violating a downed girl, or story sequences. They really went all out for the ending too. It is a massive, nonstop orgy. I can’t think of another title with a better orgy scene than the one Seed of the Dead ends on. After finishing it, you also unlock a CG mode to view all of the H content. You can even view the monster sex scenes from their point of view, and the death animations are in a separate tab so you don’t have to see that if you choose not to.
The gameplay itself tries to deviate from the horde based introduction. At times you will be tasked with defending a location, reaching a certain point of the map, or simply pressing onward. It works best as a horde shooter. The stages that task you to make your way through a map suffer the most from occasional cheap enemy placement. They pop out of thin air and you can find yourself surrounded by foes that appear a few feet from you out of nowhere. Not ideal with how small the environments are. It is still not difficult, but it does make that issue far too apparent. Defensive missions are the worst, especially level 6. That one will task you with defending all three of your now defenseless teammates as undead pour in from all angles for eight minutes. It felt like an eternity and wasn’t much fun. This could have been interesting since you can not heal due to not have any companion, yet they simply B-line towards them and mostly ignore you. That caused it to feel like a chore more than an epic battle.
You’ll find that there are 15 weapons overall. Some are flat-out better than others, yet you’ll want to take anything you can get when out of ammo. All of them need to be reloaded after you shoot enough, and some can be hip-fired far more accurately than others. The shotgun is one such weapon. It is great for taking out undead while sprinting, but its slow reload and rate of fire makes many other weapons outclass it. You’ll have to learn their recoil, damage, and clip size as you use them. Different stages may have different weapons, so you can not always fall back to your favorite gun. Anything is better than your bat, which is about as effective as hitting a brick wall with an inflatable balloon.
The gunplay is not all that great. Weapons lack a meaty sound to them, enemies feel just a bit too bullet spongey, and some guns take up far too much of your view when aiming. That is the case with the ex-gun. It is an awesome weapon that sends an explosive projectile that detonates after a few seconds, however, your character literally couldn’t hold it any closer to his face. You will not be able to see a thing and will be forced to hip-fire, which is very inaccurate with this particular weapon. That is the worst case. All the other guns function as they should, at least. You’ll also have access to grenades. Up to five of them can be carried and are gained from the ammo pick-ups scattered throughout a level. These will be your best friend. It has quite a nice radius and one-shots the basic zombies.
Overall, there are five undead variants. The standard zombie, alongside a black variant that is faster and causes more damage. A dog-like creature that can spit acid. Some manner of worm that will continuously spawn exploding larva until you kill it. And finally, you have the Tin Tan, a hulking brute that will take a significant amount of firepower to take down. It is a decent cast of foes. All of them are common, minus the Tin Tan, and do make encounters more exciting than it would if it were pure zombies. Unfortunately, that worm is a tad of a problem. It lurks just out of range from where your AI teammates are willing to shoot an enemy, so you always have to be the one to take them down or be flooded by an infinite amount of tiny, explosive larva until you do. Our companions really needed a higher damage output. As they are, their only uses are to distract enemies or to heal us, though it is more likely you’ll only have sex to heal them. We’re actually better off alone as I realized in a certain level that has us rescue them.
All told, it lasted a few hours in total. You can then enjoy the CG mode or replay it again on a higher difficulty. Its gameplay is not great, but it was still an enjoyable experience with plenty to offer. I enjoyed the tongue in cheek styled story that knows all too well how silly it is. This was quite a fun and really unique title. I don’t think I’ll ever play another game that has me slicing up zombies with a lightsaber, and then dropping our pants to heal all three teammates with the power of our character’s womb broom. What really takes it over the top is the amount of quality hentai to be found here. If you don’t like the death animations, you can simply turn it off in the menus and then be left with mostly vanilla sex. It has a large amount of content and things for all to enjoy, whether you are looking for a decently made erotic first-person shooter, or are simply after great 3D hentai.
