Eliminator Kade is a Third-Person Shooter in where we play as a nameless girl in a town completely overrun by horrific mutants. We start off in a safe area full of multiple weapons and other supplies to help us for what lies outside, chief among those being a closet in where you can customize your character. There are ten different outfits to buy once you’ve gained enough points by either slaying mutants or destroying some of the various collectibles scattered among the map. Despite their seemingly high costs, you’ll be able to quickly purchase all of them as points are given out in vast amounts.
Aside from changing your clothes, you can also change your hair into different colors, as well as your eyes and other parts of her body. It is all completely aesthetic, and you can avoid customizing her altogether if you so choose. What matters most is the type of gun you decide to take since you can only carry one. There are multiple types of machine guns, a shotgun, and a sniper rifle. It is not the largest variety, and there are no more to be found or unlocked. Interestingly enough, all of the guns do have bullet drag, so you have to take that into account when aiming at long distance objects.
Being a hentai game, it is rather light on that kind of content. Most of what there is to see can be found in the safe room, with nearly all of those involving her using a toilet to relieve herself. It is not a fetish I’d imagine most would be into, though there are a few masturbating scenes as well. In these H sequences, you can move the camera freely to get a better view of whatever it is you want to see. These lewd aspects are by no means necessary, nor do you gain anything by activating them.
It is worth noting that this title has not been translated to English and there is a ton of text written on the walls that guide the player. This will likely leave you confused, though you will figure most of it out somewhat quickly as it is by no means complex. The main thing you need to know is that there are two exits when you step out of the starting area. On the left side, stepping out of that door will take you to a free roam mode where you can explore the map to your heart’s content without any enemies trying to claw your face off. Opening the door on the right side, on the other hand, will activate survival mode and you’ll have 20 seconds before the hordes arrive.
These are some really disturbing looking monsters that wouldn’t be out of place in Attack on Titan. Worse still is that they run at incredible speeds and like the Necromorphs in Dead Space, shooting off their limbs does little to stop them. Shoot off their heads and they will still sprint in your direction. Shoot off both their arms and they will headbutt you with their massive, deformed heads. It is pretty intense shooting into a crowd of them as limbs fly off yet they still gain ground on you. With enough damage, they do go down, but having both the numbers and speed, you have to be on your guard at all times as they can come from anywhere.
Knowing when to reload is vital. You can not attack or even change to your pistol once you start that animation. There is ammo all over the place, so there is little need to ever use the pistol. It is best to gather ammo in between waves as picking some up is a lengthy process that takes around six seconds. With being faced by creatures that can run down an entire street at the blink of an eye, it should be obvious why randomly trying to pick some ammo up can end very badly for you, even if there is just a single enemy remaining.
The enemies speed does not entirely fit with the gameplay here, however. Your grenades, for instance, are completely useless since they take so long to detonate. It can also be annoying to get sucker-punched by enemies that spawn in all around and immediately b-line it to you. There are a few different mutant variants to be found. Some will cough up acidic blood at your direction, making wherever that vile lands on a dangerous hazard if stepped on. There is another mutant that looks like the rest but is made of metal. Its only difference from a basic mutant is that it takes far more firepower to bring down.
Last and definitely worse is an exploding variant that looks like a cancerous tissue of skin. They let out a constant beeping noise to let you know they are there, though this game does not have the best positional audio. Even through various walls and being located far below or above where you are, you will continuously hear that beeping as if it was near you. When it starts getting close it will beep louder, though you can not tell where they are coming from by audio alone. You will have to continually be looking all around you while still dealing with the other mutants. Thankfully, while still fast, it is far slower than a typical enemy giving you more of a chance to react. If it reaches you, then it is over, you will not survive its blast. I will be hearing its accursed beeping in my sleep after this, that’s for sure.
Some guns like the sniper rifle and shotgun entirely negate the unique limb damage mechanic. Blasting them with a powerful weapon like those will immediately kill them, despite where you shoot at. I found it far more enjoyable just using a machine-gun type weapon to see this cool damage system at play. If you find yourself in quite a nasty bind, there is also a melee attack to make use of. It is a last resort, since as you may imagine, is not all too effective against these monsters all eagerly rushing to your position. Another interesting gameplay feature is that there are drugs in your base. Taking them will lower your speed, but also allow you to take more damage. You can even survive an otherwise fatal explosion and continue fighting on without a head!
In order to heal, you need to find food scattered around the map. Even without a head, you can eat them and heal somehow. Also, on the topic of drugs, you will randomly vomit if you take too much, which can be fatal depending on when your character decides to do so. You can also find vending machines that dispense soda. Now these I have no idea what purpose they serve. Finally, you have the collectibles. They come in two forms. A weird alien doll that you need to shoot and a bunch of hentai pictures stuck on walls or found on the floor that you can pick up. There is no way you’ll be able to explore with the pressure of the ever-increasing waves of enemies. That is mostly something to do in the free roam mode unless you accidentally stumble onto them while fighting.
One of the first things you’ll see when you fight your way out of the subway and into the city is a ladder going up a tower. Your first instinct may be to try to climb up it, but that isn’t allowed in survival mode. This leads me to how poor the map layout is. It is full of dead ends and narrow environments that make the camera freak out. Navigating it can be confusing, even without the pressure of having enemies on the map with you. There are no new guns or much of interest other than hentai images to find. It does not mesh well and needs to be more interconnected as to freely move around in the heat of battle. Going out too far will simply leave you stuck in a dead-end. You may as well just stick to one of the many locations where the AI can’t reach you and camp out until you need ammo.
Climbing the aforementioned tower in free roam mode will activate a sniping challenge. You need to take down as many enemies as possible within the time limit from your perch far above them. To zoom in, you need to press the F key and oh boy, is it the worst sniper corsair I have possibly ever seen. It is just a black bar covering the middle of the screen with a circle in the middle. Regardless of that, it was kind of enjoyable due to the bullet drag that has you calculate where your projectile will hit. There are also balloons in the far off distance that you can shoot that will unlock one of several in-game achievements.
Backing out into the main menu, you will see that there is a tab called Extra Mission. These are a set of ten challenges that all task you with blowing up a set number of balloons. You need to avoid turrets throughout, and some have some light platforming. It’s a nice little addition that will not take long to complete. Eliminator Kade does not have much lasting appeal all considered. You either search for hentai in free roam mode or fight in the bare-bones survival mode on a map ill-suited for it. It is competent enough to have some fun with and possibly return to from time to time, though it is far too overpriced at nearly $25. I’d recommend trying the demo and getting it on sale if you enjoy it enough, even if there isn’t much else to see in the full version.
